Q: What is a diaper cake?
A: A diaper cake is a clever, impressive, and practical baby shower gift, perfect for every new or expectant mom. It is a tower of individually rolled or wrapped disposable diapers arranged to look like a cake. Goodies can be hidden inside or attached to the outside (depending on the style of diaper cake you choose.) Cakewalk diaper cakes make crowd-pleasing baby shower centerpieces - put a 4-tier cake on the gift table and a matching Poundcake on each guest table and listen to the ooohs and aaahs. Our baby diaper cakes make great baby shower games as well - have participants guess how many diapers and what goodies are in the the cake - (when you choose to add hidden diapering supplies to a rolled-style cake, a guessing game template is included free with your order, ready to copy!)
Q: Goodies?! Exactly what can be hidden inside?
A: Glad you asked! For $15, you can add Huggies Baby Wipes, Baby Vaseline, Johnson's Baby Powder, Desitin Diaper Rash Cream, Alcohol swabs, Sassy Diaper Disposal Sacks, and Hand Sanitizer to the inside of a 4 tier rolled-style baby diaper cake. Goodies can also be added to a 3 tier rolled-style cake, for $10. Our wrapped-style diaper cakes have baby care items and toys affixed to the outside of the diaper cake, but the base is made from diapers only.
Q: What kind of diapers do you use to make your diaper cakes?
A: We use Pampers Swaddlers size 1-2 disposable diapers in every diaper cake - Pampers Swaddlers because they are the best you can buy, and size 1-2 because they fit up to 15 lbs. This gives the expectant parents the option to enjoy the baby diaper cake for a little longer before they have to take it apart.
Q: Are the diapers glued together?
A: No. Our method for constructing diaper cakes is very secure, and every cake is guaranteed not to fall apart during shipping (see return policy below.) At the same time, our cakes are designed to be easily dismantled, and all the diapers and supplies can be used.
Q: What is a Diaper Sampler?
A: When you choose the Diaper Sampler,
your baby diaper cake will be constructed with Pampers, Huggies, &
Luvs diapers, allowing mom to sample all three leading brands of
diapers and choose her favorite, saving her time and money! Each
diaper is clearly marked with its name brand and size, so mom can tell
the difference. First-time moms LOVE this option!
Q: Will my choice of diapers affect my diaper cake's appearance?
A: NOPE! Whether you choose a Diaper Sampler or Pampers Swaddlers, the appearance of your diaper cake stays the same.
Q: Are your diaper cakes pre-made?
A: Our baby diaper cakes are handmade from scratch when you order. Since each one is an original and some items are subject to availability, sometimes they vary slightly from the picture. Consistency is a high priority, but if we must make a substitution, it will be of equal or greater value.
Q: How long will it take my diaper cake to arrive?
A: Please allow roughly 1-3 business days for your diaper cake to be constructed. You will receive an email when we receive your order, and another when your diaper cake ships. Cakes ship from Atlanta, GA, via UPS Ground and take 1-5 business days to arrive (from the day we ship them) depending on your location (click here to see a map of estimated shipping times.) Cakes that ship to an address within the state of Georgia will be charged 7% sales tax.
Q. What if I need my baby diaper cake shipped sooner than 3 business days?!
A: For a small fee, you can add Expedited Handling or Express Shipping to your order. Expedited Handling gets your diaper cake created and shipped the next business day via UPS Ground. Express Shipping gets your diaper cake created first and shipped the next business day via US Express Mail (overnight to most locations.)
Q. How can I check the status of my order?
A. Click the 'ORDER TRACKING' link at the bottom of any page, and enter your 6-digit order ID # and your email address. You will be able to view all the details of your order, including Billing and Shipping addresses, and find out whether your diaper cake has shipped.
Q. I live in Atlanta. Can I pick up my baby diaper cake to save on shipping?
A. We prefer to ship your diaper cake to you. Most of Atlanta is a 1-day shipping zone and your diaper cake should arrive the day after we ship it out. Considering the price of fuel, you will probably save $$ by letting UPS do the driving!
Q: Can my diaper cake be giftwrapped?
A: All our baby diaper cakes arrive giftwrapped in beautiful white tulle with a coordinating bow. There is no extra charge for this service. There is a link below the description of each diaper cake that will allow you to view a picture of a gift-wrapped cake.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: We accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to order. Be advised that if you pay via PayPal eCheck, your order will not ship until your eCheck clears, which usually takes 3-4 business days. If you would like to pay by cashier's check, money order, company check, or personal check, contact us for mailing instructions (see "Contact Us.") Orders paid for by cashier's check or money order will be filled as soon as payment is received. Please allow 7-10 business days after we receive your company or personal check for your order to be filled, as your cake will not be constructed until your check clears. Dishonored checks will be assessed a $25 returned check fee.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Our diaper cakes are handmade from scratch for each customer. Returns or exchanges are only offered for baby diaper cakes that are defective. Defective is defined as a cake that fell apart during shipping. (All diaper cakes are guaranteed not to fall apart during shipping - our diaper cakes are very securely constructed!!) In order to return or exchange a defective cake, you must notify Diaper Cakewalk within 48 hours of receipt that your cake arrived damaged and you wish to return or exchange it. Use the form on the "Contact Us" page. A defective cake must be returned to us within 5 business days of receipt, and must be in original condition. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL BE GRANTED FOR CAKES THAT HAVE BEEN UNWRAPPED, OPENED, RE-WRAPPED, OR OTHERWISE TAMPERED WITH. Packages that are refused are subject to a 35% restocking fee, after shipping cost. We reserve the right to deny refund or exchange on any diaper cake. All shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
